Underground Goods x DCEatings Vintage Collection Collaboration

When Underground Goods approached me to do a vintage servingware collection collaboration, I was over the moon with excitement. A few months prior, I had been quietly following Amanda and Erin’s business venture around DC and have since been inspired by their creativity, business savvy, and of course, their beautiful vintage finds and delicious bakes. Underground Goods is a curated vintage + baked goods shop dreamed up by two DC based pals (Amanda & Erin). They believe shopping second hand is a fun, sustainable way to bring new life and personality to your space and they’re passionate about connecting with their community through food, friends and timeless finds. As part of our collection drop, Amanda and Erin shared with us some tips and tricks to design a beautiful, seasonal tablescape.

Tablescaping for the Season with Underground Goods

With temps cooling down and fall vibes on the rise, we’re all about more outdoor gatherings with good friends, wine and food! So, we were excited to team up with Jordan for an Underground Goods x DCEatings collaboration to create the perfect tablescape to compliment a few of her original recipes that you can enjoy with people you care about most.

To help you create a tablescape that makes your gathering feel intimate and personal, we gathered a few of our hottest tips!

Embrace the vibrant servingware

First, choose a color palette! Once you have a palette, it’s easier to build in servingware and other table decor. Have fun with vibrant bowls, dishes and platters of varying shapes and sizes. Mixing different textures like wood, ceramic, glass and linen can also help create visual interest. Layering mix ‘n’ match plates and adding a variety of different glasses allows your table to feel a bit more personal too.

Consider your table

Size and shape does matter! If you’re working with a long table, keep the focus down the middle. Think table runners, low florals or greenery and candles. Tablecloths can elevate a round table, along with low tea lights and bud vases. We like to keep it low with flowers and candle holders so you can actually see and talk to your beautiful friends while you’re eating!

Adding interest with decor

Greenery and florals are a given! Think seasonally when it comes to fresh decor - that goes for fruit and veggies too! Draw inspo from the ingredients used in your dishes. Citrus, coconuts, seasonal gourds, and squash all make for easy and unique ways to decorate a table. We’re really loving glass or ceramic fruit and veg decor right now because they add a little funkiness.
